Monday, October 12, 2009 is a holiday. The University will be closed.

Promotion and Tenure Review - Notice of Solicitation

The Promotion and Tenure Committee will conduct a review of promotion to rank of Associate Professor and Granting of Tenure for Professor Braz Camargo. Anyone wishing to make a written submission can do so until the Promotion file closes on Friday, October 30, 2009.

Copies of the vitae and publications for Professor Braz Camargo will be available shortly in the Resource Centre to all faculty members and may be borrowed from Jennifer Hope or Jane McAndrew.

Faculty Mentor Program - Workshop/Information Session

The third session in the Faculty Mentor Program series, "Challenges in the Academic Life: Strategies for Successful Coping and Taking Control" will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. in the Teaching Support Centre, Room 122, the D.B. Weldon Library. Please register online.

Western Libraries Open Access Week

The week of October 19th 23rd has been designated as this year's Open Access Week. Western Libraries will organize two events to enhance the university community's understanding of open access. See Western Libraries' Open Access Week at Western website for more details.

Self-Reporting Flu-Like Symptoms

The self-report functionality is currently available for all employees via myHuman Resources, the same application that employees currently use for monitoring their earnings and personal data. The application can be accessed here or from the H1N1 web site on Western's home page at.

Note: Flu-Like Symptoms are defined as having a fever or chills within the past 24 hours PLUS a new or worsening cough and/or a sore throat and/or shortness of breath.
