Minimum Wage Increase

Notice from Human Resources:

The March 31, 2009 increases to the Ontario Minimum Wages will be implemented by Salary Administration for current employees and therefore it is not necessary to submit paperwork for them. However, the new rates should be used for any new appointments effective on or after March 31, 2009.The new minimum wages can be found at:

OEA & the CABE - 2009 Spring Policy Conference

The Ottawa Economics Association (OEA) and the Canadian Association for Business Economics (CABE) will sponsor the 2009 Spring Policy Conference: Policy Options for a World in Crisis on March 30-31, 2009 at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, 1 Rideau St., Ottawa. This year’s policy conference is focused on policy options to deal with the current financial and economic crisis and will bring together some of the best economic minds to help gain a better understanding of the issues and policy responses. The deadline for early bird registration is March 9, 2009.

NBER Research Conference on Quantifying Systemic Risk - Call for Papers

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and the National Bureau of Economic Research invite submissions for a one-day conference, Research Conference on Quantifying System Risk, to be held at the NBER in Cambridge, MA on November 6, 2009. The goal of this conference is to bring together academics, policymakers, and market participants to make a contribution to the ongoing debate on the future of the financial system. The deadline for submissions is April 2, 2009.

Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis Summer School - Human Capital and Economic Growth

The Faculty of Economics-Rimini of the University of Bologna and The Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA) will offer a Summer School on Developments in Economic Growth Analysis on the topic Human Capital and Economic Growth from May 18th - 30th, 2009 in Rimini, Italy. Application forms, summer school program and further information are available on the RCEA website.
