Successful Thesis Defense

Please extend your congratulations to the following two students who successfully completed their university defenses in April and will be presented with their PhD degrees at the June 2009 Convocation:

$50,000 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

Lee Ferchoff has been selected as one of six University of Western Ontario students to receive one of the newest and most prestigious scholarships in Canada, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting those who demonstrate a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health; as well as leadership skills. Both Canadian and international students are eligible to be nominated and each student is eligible to receive up to $50,000 per year for three years. Congratulations Lee!
