Professional Expense Reimbursement (PER) - Reminder

The filing deadline for reinbursement of expenses against your Professional Expense Reimbursement is March 31, 2010. Login here to verify your individual allocation of flexible credits to your PER and to confirm the total amount available to you.

Reimbursement application form and additional information:

There is no carryforward beyond 2009; however, receipts for the 2009 allocation may be dated up to March 31, 2010. In 2010, new PER entitlements will be negotiated. Please forward your application plus original receipts to Karin for review and prior to Chair's signature. If you have any questions please see Karin.

Sustainability in Developing Countries - Interdisciplinary Luncheon

An interdisciplinary luncheon for faculty and graduate students will take place on Friday, March 5th, 12:00-2:00 pm, in the McKellar Room, UCC. Researchers from the faculties of social science, business, health science and medicine are expected to attend. Top UWO experts Ted Hewitt, Danièle Bélanger, David Cechetto, Terry Sicular, and Srinivas Sridharan, will explore Sustainability in Developing Countries. A buffet-style lunch will be served at the Wave immediately after the presentations and Q & A session. There is limited space available so please RSVP by February 26, 2010.

3rd Annual Western Green Awards

Physical Plant & Capital Planning Services seeks nominations for the Western Green Awards. The purpose of the award is to help raise awareness of sustainability at The University of Western Ontario through the acknowledgement of Western community members who have made positive contributions. The deadline for nominations is February 26, 2010.

Canada-Korea G20 Seminar - Invitation

A special Canada-Korea G20 Seminar, organized at the request of the governments of Canada and Korea, to consider policy ideas for the G20 to be co-hosted by Canada and Korea in June, will be held March 17, 2010, 8th floor Boardroom, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), 150 Kent Street, Ottawa, ON. The seminar will bring together a small, select group of former government representatives and policy practitioners, private sector representatives, policy-oriented academics, and other leading experts on the main issues for the G20 Summit. A similar seminar is planned for the fall in Seoul, Korea, in advance of the G20 summit in November. Please confirm your attendance to this event.

25th Congress of the European Economic Association - Call for Papers

The 25th Annual Congress of the European Economic Association (EEA) will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, August 23-26, 2010. Economists and professionals working in related fields are invited to submit theoretical and applied papers in all areas of economics for presentation at the Congress. The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2010.

Summer Accommodation Program for Visiting International Faculty - Summer 2010

The Office of the VP (Research & International Relations) has secured a block of 8 rooms in the Elgin Hall B&B for the period May 8 to August 28, 2010 for visiting international faculty. The cost of these rooms will be covered completely by the Office of the VP. Please contact Melissa Franco as soon as possible to reserve a room or rooms for visiting faculty this summer. Please be sure to include all of the pertinent details for your request.
