Year-End Expenses - Entertainment and Travel - Workshop

Year-end for the budget year 2009-2010 is April 30, 2010. Faculty with outstanding entertainment and travel expenses for workshop visitors should forward all receipts to Karin as soon as possible.

Internal Research Grants 2009-2010

All internal research operating grants (excluding startup research grants and SSHRCC/NSERC funded grants) close on April 30, 2010 (end of the 2009-2010 operating year). Accounts that are overspent must be reimbursed by cash (or cheque made payable to: The University of Western Ontario) and deposited back into the account no later than Monday, April 26, 2010. Current balances of your accounts are available from Karin.

Annual Spring Departmental Meeting

The Annual Spring Departmental Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 20th at 4:00 p.m. in 4161 SSC. All faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Applications for Fall/Winter Limited Duties Appointments - Deadline

The deadline for applications for Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 Limited Duties Appointments is May 28, 2010.

5th Annual Laurier Finance Conference

The Laurier School of Business & Economics' Financial Services Research Centre, with support from the Bank of Canada, will host a one-day conference on Recent Advances in Corporate Finance on Friday May 14, 2010 in Room SBE1220, Schlegel Building, Wilfrid Laurier University. Leading scholars in the field will present their current research on issues related to the topic. Space is limited so early registration is required for attendance.

Prague's Centre for Public Policy Summer School on China

Organized by Prague's Centre for Public Policy, the Summer School on China: A World Superpower - Myth or Reality? will be held July 3-10, 2010, Prague, Czech Republic. This week-long academic program brings together 30 undergraduate and graduate students of various nationalities and academic backgrounds (political science, international relations, economics as well as any other social sciences) from all parts of the world. The program will analyze China’s internal and external policies to help its participants understand Beijing’s position in the current world and where the country is headed in the near future. The early bird application deadline is April 30, 2010 and the final deadline is May 15, 2010.
