Who's Doing What

Securing Monetary Stability: Canada's Monetary Policy Regime after 2011, edited by David Laidler.

An e-book published by the C.D. Howe Institute edited by Professor Emeritus David Laidler and featuring chapters by both David Laidler (with Robin Banerjee) and Michael Parkin. The book examines whether, and if so how, Canadians could improve the framework for Bank of Canada policy when the current inflation targeting program expires in 2011. The book is available online at the C.D. Howe website.

CREE Study Group 20th Annual Meeting - Call for Papers

The 20th annual meeting of the Canadian Resource and Environmental Economics Study Group will be held at the University of Guelph, Ontario, October 1-3, 2010. Submissions of abstracts or papers on all topics of relevance to environmental and resource economics are invited. The submission deadline is May 31, 2010.

University of Victoria Summer School - Invitation to Attend

The Department of Economics at the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC will host the Financial Institutions Summer School: Financial Institutions in the 21st Century, June 17-21, 2010. The application deadline is June 5, 2010.

World Trade Organization - Essay Award for Young Economists

The aim of the annual WTO Essay Award for Young Economists is to promote high-quality research on the WTO and WTO-related issues among young economists and to reinforce the relationship between the WTO and the academic community. The Award consists of a prize of CHF 5,000 and will be presented at the annual meeting of the European Trade Study Group in Lausanne, Switzerland, September 2010. The submission deadline is June 15, 2010.
