Marilyn Robinson Award for Excellence in Teaching 2010-2011

Congratulations to Ben Lester who has been selected as this year's recipient of the Marilyn Robinson Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award for excellence in teaching was established at Western in 1996-97 to be awarded based on evidence of outstanding contributions in the area of classroom, laboratory, or clinical instruction.

Innovation in Graduate Education Award - Applications Invited

Jointly sponsored by by the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Teaching Support Centre, the purpose of the Innovation in Graduate Education Award is to encourage programs and departments to pursue innovation in graduate education, mentorship and supervision, and graduate student development in order to match Western’s commitment to the highest standards and quality of graduate education. One award of $5000 will be granted. The award is open to current faculty members or teams of faculty members with membership in the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2011.

International Faculty Fridays

Sponsored by the Office of Faculty Relations and the Teaching Support Centre, the goal of International Faculty Fridays is to bring together faculty with international interests and international experience in an informal, social setting to network, share ideas and build community. Meetings take place the last Friday of every month, 3:00-4:00 pm at the Grad Club. Registration is not required.
