Birth Announcements

Congratulations to:

 Kai Xu and his wife on the birth of their son, Howard Xu, who arrived at 4:28 am on December 6, 2010.

Zhibo (Brian) Jia and his wife on the birth of their daughter who arrived March 4, 2011 and weighed 7.2 lbs.

Chunding Li and his wife on the birth of their daughter, Andra Xiang Li, who arrived at 7:25 am on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 and weighed 9.3 lbs.

Research Grants - Agency Financial Reporting Deadline March 31, 2011

March 31st is the fiscal year end for all federally and provincially funded programs (NSERC, SSHRC, CRC). Please ensure that all charges for the period April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2011 (travel expenses/claims, invoices, etc.) are submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

ATINER 6th Annual International Symposium on Economic Theory, Policy and Applications - 2nd Call for Papers and Participation

The Economics Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) will hold the 6th Annual International Symposium on Economic Theory, Policy and Applications in Athens, Greece, July 25-28, 2011. Papers from all areas of Economics are welcome. The deadline for submission of abstracts is March 31, 2011.

The 22nd Jerusalem School in Economic Theory

The Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem will hold the 22nd Jerusalem School in Economic Theory, The Global Financial Crisis, June 20-29, 2011. The school is intended for advanced graduate and post-doctoral students. Applications should be made online. The deadline for applications is April 7, 2011.

5th Annual Conference on the Political Economy of International Organizations - Call for Papers

Submissions are invited for the 5th Annual Conference on the Political Economy of International Organizations, to be held at Villanova University, Philadelphia on January 26-28, 2012. The conference brings together economists and political scientists to address political-economy issues related to international organizations such as the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the European Union, and also other international organizations that have received less attention in the academic literature. Both empirical and theoretical papers will be considered. The submission deadline is September 30, 2011.
