Workshop on Labour Markets in China and North America

Sponsored by the CIBC Centre for Human Capital and Productivity and the China Research and Policy Group, Western Economics will host a one-day Workshop on Labour Markets in China and North America on August 18, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. in Room 4161 SSC.

Teaching Support Centre - Fall Perspectives on Teaching Conference

Fall Perspectives on Teaching is a one-day conference sponsored by the Teaching Support Centre that will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2011, Room 2050 SSC. The focus of the conference is on teaching and learning for faculty, teaching assistants and staff. Registration is free, but please register in advance online and indicate the session(s) you plan to attend.

Canadian Tax Foundation - 63rd Annual Tax Conference

The Canadian Tax Foundation's 63rd Annual Tax Conference will be held November 27-29, 2011 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal, 1001 Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, Montreal. The Canadian Tax Foundation’s premiere conference provides a forum for senior practitioners and government officials to share their experience and discuss their reactions to current tax issues and challenges. The early bird registration deadline is Friday, October 28, 2011.

Prize in Monetary Economics and Finance - Call for Nominations

The Bank of France and the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) announce the launch of two prizes to distinguish leading economists in the fields of monetary economics and finance.

The Senior Prize carries a cash reward of 30,000 euros and the winner will give a keynote speech in Paris before receiving the award. The Senior Prize will be awarded every other year.

The Junior Prize will be awarded annually to two economists below the age of 40. One to a research affiliated with a European-based institution and one to a researcher affiliated with an institution based outside Europe. The submission deadline is December 1, 2011.
