Birth Announcement
Jeremy, Rona and big brother Thomas are pleased to announce the
arrival of Michael Jeremy Chambers at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, August
18th, 2011 weighing 8 lb. 11 oz. Everyone is doing fine.

Western Undergraduate Economics Review
The 2011 edition of the
Western Undergraduate Economics Review is now available online.
The WUER, an annual publication featuring papers by undergraduate
students in Economics at Western, has been published with the support
of the Social Science Student Donation Fund since 2002.The papers
appearing in the current issue were written for courses taken in the
Department during the 2010 calendar year.
Teaching Support Centre - Economics Teaching Workshop
The Teaching Support Centre has developed a one-day teaching
workshop specifically for Economics faculty and graduate students who
wish to enhance their classroom experience. The Economics Teaching
Workshop will be held on Thursday, August 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. in 4161 SSC. Instruction will be provided by the TSC staff.
Lunch will be provided.
2011 Global Development Awards and Medals Competition
The
Global Development Network (GDN) promotes superior research
through the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development for
innovative research proposals and its' Medals for Research on
Development for quality research papers. Finalists will be given a
chance to present their work in development research at the
13th
Global Development Conference to be held in June 2012. The
application deadline is January 31, 2012.
