New Mileage Rates

The Treasury Board of Canada has announced new mileage rates for Ontario. The new rate, as of January 1, 2012, will be 54.5 cents per kilometer. Additional rates for Canada can be found here.

Future updates to the rates and guidelines will be posted on the Financial Services website.

2011 Global Development Awards and Medals Competition

The Global Development Network (GDN) promotes superior research through the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development for innovative research proposals and its' Medals for Research on Development for quality research papers. Finalists will be given a chance to present their work in development research at the 13th Annual Global Development Conference to be held in June 2012. The application deadline is January 31, 2012.

NBER 2012 Summer Institute - Call for Papers

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) invites interested economists to submit papers to its 34th Annual Summer Institute. Workshops on a number of different topics will be held in Cambridge, MA from July 9 to July 27, 2012. Interested researchers should submit a curriculum vitae and a copy of the paper (one-page abstracts will be accepted as well) no later than February 17, 2012.

Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA) Finance Workshop - Call for Papers

The RCEA invites papers for the 4th Rimini Finance Workshop to be held April 28, 2012 in Rimini, Italy. Papers in all areas of quantitative finance and financial econometrics are welcome. The submission deadline is March 15, 2012.

NIPE 9th Summer School

The NIPE (Economic Policies Research Unit) announces its 9th Summer School on The Science and Art of DSGE Modelling: A Course on Model Construction, Calibration, Estimation and Policy Analysis, that will take place at the University of Minho, School of Economics and Management, Braga, Portugal, from June 20-22, 2012. The course will cover topics in econometrics and economic modelling that are useful to graduate students and applied researchers. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2012.

Prague Summer Schools 2012

Organized by Prague's Centre for Public Policy, Prague Summer Schools 2012 will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, June 30 - July 7, 2012. This week-long academic program brings together undergraduate and graduate students of various nationalities and academic backgrounds from around the world. The early bird application deadline is April 30, 2012 and the final deadline is May 15, 2012.

APET 13th Annual Conference - Call for Papers

The Association for Public Economic Theory 13th Annual Conference will be held at Academia Sinica, in Taipei, Taiwan, June 12-14, 2012. Papers in all aspects of public economics and related areas are invited. The submission deadline is March 1, 2012.
