Sabbatical Application Forms

Sabbatical Application Forms for leave starting on July 1, 2013 or on January 1, 2014 are now available for tenured faculty members and probationary faculty who are coming up for consideration for tenure effective July 1, 2012. The form can be printed or filled out online. Please submit your completed and signed application to Karin by Friday, August 31, 2012.

Membership on the Subcommittee on Teaching Awards (SUTA) - Call for Nominations

The Senate Committee on Academic Policy and Awards (SCAPA) invites nominations for membership on the Subcommittee on Teaching Awards (SUTA). This year one faculty member and one graduate student are required. SUTA is responsible for selecting winners of the Edward G. Pleva Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Angela Armitt Award for Excellence in Teaching by Part-Time Faculty, and the Marilyn Robinson Award for Excellence in Teaching. Nominations must be received by Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Teaching Support Centre - Western Institute for Research on Teaching and Learning

The Western Institute for Research on Teaching and Learning is an interactive, three-day workshop designed to support faculty members, librarians, and archivists in the development of a research project on their own teaching that will be held May 23-25, 2012, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, in Room 120, The D.B. Weldon Library. Enrolment is limited and is restricted to full and part-time faculty.

Centre for International Studies (CÉRIUM) - International Summer Schools Program

The Centre for International Studies at the University of Montréal (CÉRIUM) will offer Summer Schools 2012, an international summer schools program, July 2-14, 2012. Eight intensive six-day schools on global issues, bringing together ten experts in their respective fields will be of particular interest to professors, journalists, educators, executives, members of NGOs and community groups and students.

World Trade Organization - Essay Award for Young Economists

The aim of the annual WTO Essay Award for Young Economists is to promote high-quality research on trade policy and international trade co-operation among young economists and to reinforce the relationship between the WTO and the academic community. The Award consists of a prize of CHF 5,000 and will be presented at the annual meeting of the European Trade Study Group in Leuven, Belgium, September 2012. The submission deadline is June 1, 2012.

2012 Annual Meeting of the Midwest Econometrics Group (MEG) - Call for Papers

Hosted by the Department of Economics and the Gatton School of Business and Economics, University of Kentucky, the Twenty Second Annual Meeting of the Midwest Econometrics Group will be held on September 28-29, 2012 at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky. The deadline for abstract/paper submission is June 30, 2012.
