Canada Day Holiday Canadian Flag

The Department of Economics will be closed Monday, July 2, 2012 to celebrate Canada Day.

Promotion and Tenure Review - Notice of Solicitation

The Promotion and Tenure Committee will conduct a review of promotion to rank of Professor for Professor Timothy G. Conley and Professor Charles Z. Zheng. Anyone wishing to make a written submission can do so until the Promotion and Tenure files close on Friday, September 14, 2012.

Copies of the vitae and publications for Professors Conley and Zheng are now available for borrowing by faculty members from the Main Office.

Western International Public Lecture Invitation

A public lecture by Dr. Cristovam Diniz of the Federal University of Para, Brazil, The Educational Profile of the Amazonian Region and the Importance of Long-Term International Cooperative Research Projects, will take place on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, 1:00-2:00 pm in the Dr. David S. Chu International Student Centre, Room 2130, Western Student Services Building. All are welcome.

Wharton School Conference - Call for Papers

The Financial Institutions Center of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is organizing a conference on Liquidity and Financial Crises that will take place at the University of Pennsylvania, October 12-13, 2012. Submission of empirical and theoretical papers in various fields of economics and finance are invited. The deadline for submission of papers is July 1, 2012.
