Statutory Holiday - Labour Day

Western will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2012 for Labour Day.

Department Office Hours

The Department of Economics will return to regular hours as of Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Office hours will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Departmental Meeting

The Fall Departmental Meeting will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 4161 SSC. All faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Economics Photo Day - Graduate Students, Faculty & Staff

A photographer has been booked to take photos for those that don't have one or would like a new one that can be used for our Economics website, research posters, special announcements etc. Photos will be taken between 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room (Room 4069) on Friday, September 14th.

Canadian Economics Employment Exchange (CEEE)

The Canadian Economics Employment Exchange will take place December 7-8, 2012 at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville in Toronto. The purpose of the CEEE is to facilitate the search of Canadian PhD candidates who are seeking employment and of the Canadian organizations who may be interested in hiring these candidates.

Allied Social Science Association (ASSA) Annual Meeting

The 2013 Allied Social Science Association (ASSA) Annual Meeting has been scheduled for January 4-6, 2013 in San Diego, California. The headquarters hotel is the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Registration and hotel bookings will open Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

ATINER 6th International City Break Conference  - Call for Papers and Participation

Academics and researchers are invited to a cross-disciplinary International City Break Conference on Business and Society in a Global Economy, to be held December 17-20, 2012 in Athens, Greece. This conference is hosted by the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). The deadline for submission of abstracts is September 17, 2012.
