Professor Emeritus Edward Saraydar (1925-2012)

The Celebration of Ed Saraydar’s Life will take place on Saturday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Library of the Sir Adam Beck Condos, 250 Sydenham St., London.

The flag will be lowered at Western at 2:00 p.m. on February 2nd.

Fire Drill

Sponsored by Simon Fraser University, the Society for Computational Economics will present the 19th International Conference on Computing in Economics and Finance (CEF 2013) on July 10-12, 2013 at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel in Vancouver, BC. The abstract submission deadline is February 15, 2013.

1st Annual Doctoral Workshop in Applied Econometrics - Call for Papers

Ryerson University will host the 1st Annual Doctoral Workshop in Applied Econometrics on April 13, 2013. Submissions in all areas of both applied and theoretical econometrics are welcome. The submission deadline is March 1, 2013.

7th Frontier of Macroeconomics Workshop - Invitation to Attend

Queen's University Economics Department will host the 7th Frontiers of Macroeconomics Workshop on April 26, 2013. This one-day workshop will feature excellent speakers and research discussion and will close with a reception and dinner. There is no fee to participate in the workshop, lunch, reception or dinner, but please register in advance. The registration deadline is Friday, April 5, 2013.

1st International Workshop on Econometric Applications in Climatology - Call for Papers

The University of Guelph will host the 1st International Workshop on Econometric Applications in Climatology on June 5-7, 2013. Papers from both econometrics and climatology are welcome. The submission deadline for extended abstracts (2-3 pages) is February 28, 2013.

30th Annual Conference of the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) - Call for Papers

Arranged by the Polish Association of Law and Economics (PSEAP), in cooperation with the Centre for Economic Analyses of Public Sector at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw and Warsaw School of Economics, the 30th Annual EALE Conference will be held on September 26-28, 2013, at the University of Warsaw in the Old University Library Building, Warsaw, Poland. The deadline for submission of papers is March 29, 2013.

McGill University's Centre for International Peace and Security Studies (CIPSS) will host the 11th Annual Graduate Student Conference, Expanding the Security Landscape: From New Threats to Novel Issues, on May 6, 2013. The abstract submission deadline is February 22, 2013.

Canadian Research Council eCanadian Journals - Call for Papers

The focus of the Canadian Research Council (CRC) is to endorse and encourage scholarly research among academics, scientists, scholars, engineers and students from around the world. The CRC has set up eCanadian Journals in the following research fields: eCanadian Journal of Business and Economics (ECJBE), eCanadian Journal of Accounting and Finance (ECJAF), eCanadian Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (ECJHSS), and eCanadian Journal of Technology and Scientific Management (ECJTSM).

Please submit a hard copy (pdf copy by email) of all research grant applications (including contracts), internal and external, to Karin for review and subsequent Chair approval/signature prior to electronically submitting your applications.

In addition, completion and electronic submission of a Proposal via ROLA must be filled out be all applicants to obtain institutional approvals for their research grant/contract applications. Please see Karin if  you need assistance.
