Annual Spring Department Meeting - Save the Date
The annual Spring Department Meeting will be held on Friday, April
12th at 3:00 p.m., in Room 4161 SSC. All faculty and staff are invited
to attend. An agenda will be sent out early April.
Research Grants - Agency Financial Reporting Deadline March
31, 2013
March 31st is the fiscal year end for all federally and
provincially funded programs (NSERC, SSHRC, CRC). Please ensure that
all charges for the period April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013 (travel
expenses/claims, invoices, etc.) are submitted no later than
4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013.
Economics Teaching Workshop - RSVP
Bethany White, Teaching Fellow and member of the Department of
Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, will lead the next Economics
Teaching Workshop, Making Math Matter - The Challenge of Teaching
Math-Based Courses to Non-Math Majors, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
in Room 4161 SSC. Faculty from math and
math-based subjects will participate in the workshop. Economics
faculty Andrés Carvajal, Peter Streufert and Greg Pavlov will be on
a panel to discuss their teaching strategies in this regard.

World Earth Hour
The Western community is encouraged to support World Earth Hour
on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 8:30-9:30 p.m.by
turning off lights and reducing energy consumption. Before leaving
Western today, shut off all computers, monitors, printers and
electronics and close your blinds to increase insulation and reduce
the need for extra heating.
Western's Annual Campus Clean-up
All Western students, staff and faculty are encouraged to get
involved in Western's Annual Campus Clean-up day on Thursday, April
4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., or 12:30 p.m. After each group
returns from their clean-up, they will receive a free BBQ lunch.

timeslot.
UWOFA - Invitation to Public Lecture

the Canadian Campus Workplace" on Wednesday, April 10, 2013,
from 4:30-5:30 p.m., at Conron Hall, University College.
Community Service Learning (CSL) Award - Call for
Applications
Awarded by Community Service Learning @ Western in The Student
Success Centre, the aim of the
Community Service Learning (CSL) Award is to support faculty in
creating opportunities for students to connect academic course
content with community service that contributes to student learning,
and local and international community development. Three awards, up
to $1500 each, will be awarded in 2013. The deadline for
applications is April 12, 2013.
14th Trento Summer School
The
Computable and Experimental Economics Laboratory (CEEL) program in Adaptive Economic Dynamics will offer the
14th Trento Summer School: Intensive Course in Modularity
and Design for Innovation, from July 1 - 12, 2013 at Hotel Villa Madruzzo in Trento, Italy. The Trento Summer Schools are intended for
Ph.D students, post-doctoral fellows and new researchers in
technology and operations management; strategy; finance; and the
economics of organizations and institutions. The deadline for applications is
April 20, 2013.
