First Aid Representative
Jennifer Hope is the First Aid
Representative for the Department of Economics. In the event of an
accident or medical emergency within the department, please contact
Jennifer. The department's First Aid kit is located in the main
office, Room 4071 SSC. Please let Jennifer know if you remove anything
from the kit yourself. If an accident or injury does occur, an
Accident/Incident Report form must be filled out, and the injured
employee's supervisor must be contacted.
Sabbatical Application Forms
Sabbatical Application Forms for leave starting on July 1, 2014 or
on January 1, 2015 are available for tenured faculty members and
probationary faculty who are coming up for consideration for tenure
effective July 1, 2013. The form can be
printed or filled out
online. Please submit your completed and signed application to
Karin by
Friday August 30, 2013.

C.D. Howe Inaugural Scholars' Dinner
The C.D. Howe Institute will host the
Inauural Scholars'
Dinner in honour of its fellows and contributors on May 15, 2013,
from 6:00-9:00 pm, at the C.D. Howe Institute, 67 Yonge Street, Suite
300, Toronto. John Helliwell, Senior Fellow at CIFAR and Professor
Emeritus at UBC Vancouver School of Economics, will present his most
recent research on well-being entitled Building Better Lives: New
Lessons from the Science of Happiness. Although C.D. Howe events are
normally open to members only, because of the speaker and the fact
that this event is meant to recognize the academic community’s
accomplishments in economic policy, the invitation is extended to CEA
members. A special reduced rate for the event is offered to academics.
Sixth International Conference on Global Studies - Call for
Papers
Co-hosted bv Ambedkar University, Delhi, the
Sixth International Conference on Global Studies will be held on
September 5-7, 2013 at the India International Centre, New Delhi,
India. The purpose of the Global Studies Conference is to serve as an
open forum for exploring globalization from many perspectives in a
wide variety of locations. The deadline for submission of proposals is
May 21, 2013.
