Industrial-Academic Workshop on Optimization in Finance and Risk Management

The 2nd Industrial-Academic Workshop on Optimization in Finance and Risk Management will be held at the Fields Institute in Toronto on September 23-24, 2013. Focusing on financial and risk management optimization models for practical implementation and use by risk managers and finance practitioners, the goal of the workshop is to bridge academic research and financial applications of optimization techniques. Abstract submission deadline for contributed talks is August 1, 2013.


Research Notices

Please submit a hard copy (pdf copy by email) of all research grant applications (including contracts), internal and external, to Karin for review and subsequent Chair approval/signature prior to electronically submitting your applications.

In addition, completion and electronic submission of a Proposal via ROLA must be filled out be all applicants to obtain institutional approvals for their research grant/contract applications. Please see Karin if  you need assistance.

Funding Announcements

Faculty Directed Research Funds

Erin Huner reports that the ROLA link for the internal Faculty Directed Research Funds is not currently up and running. She will announce when it's available on the ROLA funding page. Meanwhile, please fill in your applications, have them signed by the chair and delivered to Erin's office by the July 3, 2013, 4:30 pm deadline.

NSERC and SSHRC Access to Residual Funds Reinstated

Research Development & Services has announced that the NSERC and SSHRC Access to Residual Funds program has been reinstated, effective immediately. The guidelines and application form for this internal program are being reviewed and amended over the summer months. For more information, please contact Erin Huner.
