Western Master of Financial Economics Program
The Western Master of Financial Economics (MFE) is a 16-month (4 term) course-based Masters program. The Western MFE is offered on a full-time basis only with one admission intake per year in September. The interdisciplinary curriculum requires completion of 12 courses (9 required, 3 electives plus Professional Development Series) and a summer internship.

Progression
To graduate from the program, a student must have an overall average of at least 75% in courses taken in the program, with no grade below 60%. In addition, students must maintain an overall average of at least 70% each term in order to continue in good standing in the program. The summer internship is required.
MFE Study Space
A well-lit, quiet and secure space with exclusive access for MFE students and staff minutes away from scheduled classrooms. It is often used by our students between classes and by our program for our Guest Speaker series, dedicated Networking Events, and our Professional Development workshops. This area features:
- Customizable room configurations with movable desks for study purposes or presentations
- Bloomberg Terminals for financial research
- Two breakout rooms for private group study
- State-of-the-art technology
- Online communications options
