Holiday Hours

The University will close for the Holiday Season on December 24th. See you again on Monday, January 5, 2009.

Promotion and Tenure Review - Professor Hiroyuki Kasahara

The Promotion and Tenure Committee will conduct a review of promotion to rank of Associate Professor and Granting of Tenure for Professor Hiroyuki Kasahara. Anyone wishing to make a written submission can do so until the Promotion file closes on Monday, March 2, 2009.

Copies of the vitae and publications for Professor Kasahara are now available in the Resource Centre to all faculty members and may be borrowed from Jennifer Hope or Jane McAndrew.

Summer Course Offerings 2009

Summer teaching will be upon us in just a few short months. Economics has just posted its list of courses for which instructors are needed. Please take a moment to look at the following site:

If you are interested in teaching, please complete the attached form and follow the instructions in the ad. The deadline to apply for these teaching positions is January 5, 2009.

Supply Air Fan Shutdown - Extended to December 22nd

The shutdown of supply air fans 101 & 102 in SSC scheduled for December 18th & 19th has been extended to December 22nd from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. The shutdown will affect the heating/ventilation in all rooms served by the fan systems. The supply air fans will be left on overnight to compensate for the daytime shutdown. The fans will be turned on each day as soon as the work is completed. The shutdown is required to allow I.T.S. to run cable in rooms 4004 – 4036, 1032.

Christmas Fan Shutdown

The fans listed will be shutdown to conserve energy from December 25th – January 4th, 2009. All areas that are open during the break will have their fans operate as scheduled for occupancy. All other buildings will maintain minimum operating temperatures to prevent any possibility of freeze up.

NBER Summer Institute 2009 - Call for Papers

The National Bureau of Economic Research invites interested economists to submit papers to its 30th Annual Summer Institute which will be held in Cambridge, MA in July 2009. Economists at the assistant professor level or above who are interested in participating in the Summer Institute should submit a CV and a one-page abstract of any paper they would like to present by January 31, 2009.
