Teaching Support Centre - Innovation in Graduate Education

The Teaching Support Centre will present Innovation in Graduate Education on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, 1:30- 3:30 pm, the Teaching Support Centre, Room 122 Weldon Library. Registration is restricted to full and part-time faculty members.

Western's Green Awards

Physical Plant & Capital Planning Services seeks nominations for the Western Green Awards. The purpose of the award is to help raise awareness of sustainability at The University of Western Ontario through the acknowledgement of Western community members who have made positive contributions. The deadline for nominations is March 16, 2009.

NBER Trans-Atlantic Public Economics Seminar - Call for Papers

The National Bureau of Economic Research jointly with the IGIER at Bocconi University will be holding a Trans-Atlantic Public Economics Seminar, Fiscal Policy, on June 14-16, 2010 in Milan, Italy. Emphasis will be on empirically oriented research, but applied theoretical research is also welcome. Preference will be given to papers by younger authors. The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2009.

The 20th Jerusalem School in Economic Theory

The Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem announces the 20th Jerusalem School in Economic Theory, on The Economics of Contracts, June 19-30, 2009. The school is intended for advanced graduate and post-doctoral students. The deadline for applications is May 20, 2009.

Centre for Research on Latin America & the Caribbean (CERLAC) & Extractive Industries Research Group (EIRG) - Conference

CERLAC & EIRG will hold a conference on Rethinking Extractive Industry, Regulation, Dispossession and Emerging Claims at York University Toronto on March 5-7, 2009. This conference responds to growing public interest in the consequences of the rapid growth of mining and petroleum industries in Canada and elsewhere in the world. Registration is required.
