Notice from Human Resources - 2010 Minimum Wage Increases

The March 31, 2010 increases to the Ontario Minimum Wage rates will be implemented centrally by Salary Administration. It is not necessary to submit paperwork for these wage changes. For hourly paid employees, the minimum wage increases will take effect on March 28, 2010. These new rates must be used for any appointments that are effective on or after March 31, 2010.

Mentoring Day

The Teaching Support Centre and the Office of the Vice-Provost (Academic Planning, Policy and Faculty) will present Mentoring Matters on Thursday, May 6, 2010, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Weldon Library, Room 258. The day-long program is open to all, but the morning session is specifically designed for academic leaders at the level of Deans, Associate Deans, Department Chairs and School Directors. Register online.

Douglas D. Purvis Memorial Prize - Call for Nominations

Nominations are requested for the 17th annual award to honour the memory of the late Douglas D. Purvis. An award of $10,000 is to be presented for a work of excellence relating to Canadian economic policy and published in 2009. The award is open to all forms of written media in which material relevant to Canadian economic policy appears. The deadline for nominations is March 15, 2010.

Rimini Conference in Economics and Finance - Call for Papers

The Rimini Conference in Economics and Finance (formerly called Small Open Economies in a Globalized World, SOEGW), The Canadian Economy's 15 Golden years in the Global Context, will take place June 10-13, 2010 At the Rimini campus of the University of Bologna, Rimini, Italy. The conference is a biennial international meeting assembling a group of leading economists to present and discuss their work at the cutting edge of economic research. The submission deadline is April 2, 2010.
