Professional Expense Reimbursement (PER) – Deadline March 28, 2011

The 2010 Professional Development Expense Reimbursement (PER) form is now available. The submission deadline for 2010 is March 31, 2011 (receipts for the 2010 allocation year may be dated up to March 31, 2011). If you have any questions, please contact Karin.

Please submit your PER form and original receipts (can be returned to you) to Karin by Monday, March 28th.

Launch of Canadian Policy Network at Western

The launch of the Canadian Policy Network at The University of Western Ontario (CPNet@Western) will be held on January 11th in the USC Council Chambers, UCC Room 315. There are two parts to the launch. Pathways to Policy: The Role for Universities will be held from 1:00-2:30 pm and Skating to Where the Puck is Going to Be: The Future of Health Care will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm. Please rsvp if you are planning to attend.

Faculty Mentor Program 2010-11

The Teaching Support Centre will hold the fifth session in the Faculty Mentor Program series, Research Funding - Cradle to Grave, on Friday, January 14, 2011, in Room 121, Teaching Support Centre, the D.B. Weldon Library. Register on-line.

Fluency in English Pronunciation for University Lecturers

The Teaching Support Centre is offering workshops for faculty for whom English is a second language. Fluency in English Pronunciation sessions will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays (January 17, 19, 24, 26, 31; February 2, 7, 9, 14, 16), 4:00-6:00 pm, location TBA. Please register on-line.

Canadian Economics Association (CEA) Annual Meeting - Call for Papers

The 45th Annual Conference of the CEA will be held June 2-5, 2011 at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario. The Canadian Economics Association would like to invite anyone wishing to present a paper at the 2011 Conference to submit an abstract by Friday, February 18, 2011.

NBER 2011 Summer Institute - Call for Papers

The National Bureau of Economic Research invites interested economists to submit papers to its 32nd Annual NBER Summer Institute. Workshops on a number of different topics will be held in Cambridge, MA from July 11 to August 4, 2011. Economists at the assistant professor level or above who are interested n participating in the 2011 Summer Institute should submit a CV and a complete manuscript (one-page abstracts will be accepted as well) by February 15, 2011.

6th Annual International Symposium on Economic Theory, Policy and Applications - Call for Papers and Participation

The Economics Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) will hold its 6th Annual International Symposium on Economic Theory, Policy and Applications in Athens, Greece, July 25-28, 2011. Papers from all areas of Economics are welcome. The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 10, 2011.

NIPE 8th Summer School

The NIPE (Economic Policies Research Unit) is pleased to announces its 8th Summer School on Duration Analysis, that will take place at the University of Minho, Escola de Economia e Gestão, Braga, Portugal, June 28 - July 1, 2011. The purpose of the course is to provide graduate students and applied researchers with a comprehensive coverage of statistical methods and their application in the econometric analysis of duration analysis. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2011.
