Western Libraries Open Access Week

The week of October 24-30, 2011 has been designated as this year's International Open Access Week. Western Libraries will host speakers, workshops and information booths to raise the Western community's awareness of open access and related topics.

Digital Scholarship @ Western 2011 - Invitation

Western Libraries will host a public event, Digital Scholarship @ Western 2011 on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 2:00-3:30 p.m., Room 3010 SSC. This event is free and open to all. No registration is required.

University of Waterloo Seminar - Invitation

The Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo and the Centre for Behavioural Decision Research will present a seminar by David Laibson, Professor of Economics, Harvard University, Self Control and Commitment, on Friday, October 21, 2011, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Hagey Hall 1102.

John G. Diefenbaker Award 2012 - Call for Nominations

The Canada Council for the Arts announces the opening of nominations for the John G. Diefenbaker Award. This award allows a Canadian university to invite a distinguished German scholar to come to Canada for a period of up to one year to work on a specific research project and to participate in research related activities. The nomination deadline is December 1, 2011.
