Promotion and Tenure Review - Notice of Solicitation

The Promotion and Tenure Committee will conduct a review of promotion to rank of Professor for Professor Lance Lochner and a review of promotion to rank of Associate Professor and Granting of Tenure for Professor Maria Goltsman. Anyone wishing to make a written submission can do so until the Promotion and Tenure files close on Friday, September 16, 2011.

Copies of the vitae and publications for Professor Lochner and Professor Goltsman are available in the Main Office to all faculty members and may be borrowed from Sharon Phillips or Debra Merrifield.

Teaching Support Centre - New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation: Teaching at Western is a day of orientation activities for new faculty members (full-time, part-time, and sessional) offered by the Teaching Support Centre on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Room 258, the D.B. Weldon Library.

RCEA International Workshop - Preliminary Call for Papers

The Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA) will hold an international workshop on The Economics and Management of Leisure, Travel and Tourism in Rimini, Italy on November 28-29, 2011. The deadline for submission of one-page abstracts is August 20, 2011.

Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) - Call for Papers and Participation

Organized by the Economics Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER), the 7th Annual International Symposium on Economic Theory, Policy and Applications will be held July 23-26, 2012 in Athens, Greece. The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 9, 2012.

Evidence-Informed Healthcare Renewal (EIHR) Initiative

The EIHR initiative focuses on three priority areas: financing and funding models; health system sustainability; and governance and accountability. Health services and health policy research would greatly benefit from contributions from economics, political science, sociology, philosophy, law, and other relevant fields.
