Take Our Kids to Work Day - Possible Activities

Western is taking part in national Take Our Kids to Work Day on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Ideas for activities such as a tour or a hands-on activity that students could be involved with for about 45 minutes during the morning that could be included in the roster of activities would be appreciated. Third Annual AEA Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education - Call for Papers

The AEA Committee on Economic Education (CEE) will host the Third Annual Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education May 29-31, 2013 at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown, Chicago. The submission deadline is December 15, 2012.

16th IZA European Summer School in Labor Economics

The Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) will hold its 16th IZA European Summer School in Labor Economics on May 13-19, 2013 at the conference center of Deutsche Post AG at the Ammersee Lake (near Munich) in Bavaria, Germany. The objective of the Summer School is to bring together a large number of PhD students and senior lecturers to study new areas in labor economics and to discuss their own research ideas. Applications to participate should be submitted by January 14, 2013.

Excellence Award in Global Economics Affairs 2013

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy announces the forthcoming Excellence Award in Global Economic Affairs 2013. The aim of this award is to build a community of bright young researchers in the area of global economic affairs. Economists up to the age of 35 are invited to apply for this award by submitting up to three published or unpublished papers in the field of global economic affairs. The application deadline is October 31, 2012.
