Staff Update from Debra….
There are some changes in the Main Office. Jennifer is now located
at the front desk in the Main Office. In addition to her regular
duties, she will take on reception duties. Sharon has moved to the
second desk in the Main Office where she will provide additional
support to both Audra and Debra.
Administrative support for faculty for 2013-2014 can be found on
the Department Intranet.
Please check to see which staff person has been assigned to you as
there has been a shuffle from last year: Choose Department
General Business > Administrative Support.

IIB Conference - Call for Papers
The
9th Iberian International Business Conference will be held in
Braga, Portugal, October 4-5, 2013. Hosted by NIPE and the School of
Economics and Management from University of Minho, the main theme will
be “Globalization of Iberian Firms in a Challenging World”. The
deadline for submissions is July 31, 2013.

Please submit a hard copy (pdf copy by email) of all
research grant applications (including contracts), internal and
external, to
Karin for
review and subsequent Chair approval/signature prior to electronically
submitting your applications.
In addition, completion and electronic submission of a
Proposal via
ROLA
must be filled out be all applicants to obtain institutional approvals
for their research grant/contract applications. Please see Karin if
you need assistance.

Faculty Directed Research Funds
Social Science’s Faculty Directed Research Funds program is now
accepting applications for Small Grants and
Conference Travel. The application deadline is:
JULY 3, 2013, 4:30 pm.
- Small Grants Program - For research up to
$5000.00. Travel to conferences will not be considered eligible
under this program. Please do not include this in your budget.
Application Form:

WORD.
- Conference Travel (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) - Up
to $1500.00. Preference will be given to those applicants who have
already been accepted to the specified conference. They will
honour receipts 6 months pre-application deadline (on or after
February 3, 2013) and 6 months post- award (on or after July 3 up
until December 3, 2013).

A hardcopy of your application with the appropriate signatures, and
a completed ROLA must be submitted to Erin Huner by
JULY 3, 2013 4:30 pm. Applications
submitted after this deadline will not be accepted. Please direct any
questions or concerns to Erin.
