Economics Fall Party - Reminder

The Department of Economics Fall Party will take place on Thursday, September 22nd at the Elsie Perrin Williams Estate on Windermere Road, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Blackfriar’s. Cocktails at 5:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. Beverages are complimentary.

  • New faculty, new graduate students and their families – $0/person
  • Faculty/staff/spouse - $20/person
  • Graduate student/spouse - $10/person

Fall Fire Drill

A fire drill for the Faculty of Social Science will occur on Thursday, October 13, 2011, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Staff evacuation is required. October fire drill schedule.

Faculty Mentor Program 2011-2012

The Faculty Mentor Program will sponsor a panel session, Preparing Research Grant Proposals: CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC, on Friday, September 30, 2011, 1:30-3:30 p.m., in the Teaching Support Centre, Room 121, Weldon Library. This program is intended for faculty. Registration is restricted to full and part-time faculty members.

Bank of Canada - Fellowship Program - Deadline Reminder

The purpose of the Bank of Canada Fellowship Program is to foster excellence in research and analysis, and to develop partnerships with experts outside the Bank of Canada in areas important to the Bank's mandate: macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, financial markets and institutions, financial stability and regulation, labour economics, and economic growth. There are two awards available through the Fellowship Program:

The application deadline for both awards is November 15, 2011.

2011 Business & Economics Society International Conferences - Call for Papers/Participants

The 2012 Business & Economics Society International Conferences will be held:

  • January 7-10, 2012 at the Rydges Lakeland Resort Queenstown, Queenstown, New Zealand. Submission deadline September 30, 2011.
  • July 6-9, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria. Submission deadline March 15, 2012.

These conferences welcome academics (business/economics professors and administrators), as well as corporation / government executives and economists.
