University Students' Council - Teaching Honour Roll Certificate

Congratulations to Chris Robinson on receiving a USC Teaching Honour Roll Certificate for the 2010-2011 academic year. This award is given to instructors who receive an accumulated average of 6.3 or higher out of 7 on the first 14 questions of the Western Senate-mandated course and teacher evaluations.

Fellowship in Teaching Innovation and the Western Research on Teaching Grant - Information Session

An information session on the Fellowship in Teaching Innovation and the Western Research on Teaching Grant will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., in the Teaching Support Centre, Room 121, Weldon Library. This session is intended for those preparing applications for these programs in the current cycle and for those who are interested in learning more about the programs.

The Mike McCracken Award for Economic Statistics - Call for Nominations

The Mike McCracken Award for Economic Statistics, established in 2010, recognizes both theoretical and applied contributions that are important to the development or use of official economic statistics. The Award is endorsed by the Canadian Economics Association (CEA) and, beginning with the 2011 award, will be presented at the annual meeting of the CEA. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2012.

European Summer Symposium in Economic Theory 2012 - Call for Papers

The European Summer Symposium in Economic Theory 2012, hosted by Studycentre Gerzensee, will take place July 2 to July 13, 2012 at the Studienzentrum Gerzensee, Switzerland. The symposium will consist of three half-day workshops as well as a number of small seminars. The registration deadline is March 2, 2012.

RCEA Summer School 2012 - Economic Growth School

Jointly organized by the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis (RCEA) and the Faculty of Economics-Rimini of the University of Bologna, Summer School 2012 Economic Growth School, Human Capital and Economic Growth will be held May 14-18, 2012 at the Rimini Campus of the University of Bologna, Italy. The deadline for applications is March 24, 2012.

Stanford Institute for Theoretical Economics Summer Workshop 2012 - Call for Papers

The Stanford Institute for Theoretical Economics (SITE) annual Summer Workshop 2012 will consist of eight individual segments beginning June 21, 2012 that will take place at the University of Stanford. Submissions from junior faculty and scholars (defined as first or second year full-time faculty) as well as postdoctoral scholars and advanced graduate students will be given priority but are also welcome from more senior faculty. The deadline for applications for Segments 1 and 2 is March 1, 2012, Segment 3 is April 1, 2012, and for Segment 4, 5 and 6 is June 1, 2012.
